Facebook Charges Businesses to Run Offers
The social network is now charging businesses to utilize their Offer feature, another adjustment strong-arming brands into spending media dollars in order to thrive. The once free feature is now limited to pages with at least 400 fans, and a $5 minimum spend to promote the offer is required. Fans are still able to claim the offers for free, and the action then creates a news story in their friends’ Newsfeeds, like the one shown below.
Just An FYI: We wanted everyone to be aware of the new required spend when considering whether or not to utilize the feature. Looking for a plus? The spend, especially if more than the $5 minimum, will lead to an increase in paid reach, allowing for more claim opportunities on the offer.
